This is one of those pieces that makes a lot of sense once you see how it’s built. The Outdoor Research Melody Hybrid Full Zip combines lightweight synthetic insulation through the front of the body with stretchy, breathable fabric through the sleeves and back.
The result is a great active cold-weather layer: warmth where you need it without turning the whole jacket into a puffy. It was designed for activities like winter hiking and ski touring, where staying warm matters but so does being able to move and dump some heat.
The quilted front uses 80 g/m² Thermore Classic HiLoft synthetic insulation beneath a lightweight 20D ripstop shell. The sleeves and back use a stretchy 87% polyester / 13% spandex fabric that's breathable, quick drying, and built for mobility.
And the Washed Peacock Multi colorway is pretty darn good—the blue insulated body paired with the multicolor heathered sleeves gives it a lot more character than your standard technical midlayer.

Condition: Very good used condition. The fabric, insulation, stitching and zippers all appear to be in nice shape with no obvious major damage.
This would be a great jacket for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ski touring, travel, or everyday winter wear. It also works really well as a midlayer under a shell when the weather turns.
