Got a pile of backpacking fuel canisters that are all just a little bit full? The FlipFuel Fuel Transfer Device lets you consolidate leftover isobutane fuel from one compatible canister into another, so you can head out with a fuller canister instead of carrying several half-used ones.

FlipFuel threads between two isobutane canisters and uses a temperature difference to facilitate the transfer. Cool the receiving canister, warm the sending canister, connect them to the clearly marked OUT and IN sides, and open the valve to transfer the fuel.

It's especially useful for backpackers and campers who regularly end trips with partially used canisters. Consolidate what's left, recycle the empties appropriately, and cut down on that ever-growing collection of mystery canisters sitting in the garage.

Important: FlipFuel should only be used to transfer fuel between canisters of the same brand and model. A digital scale is strongly recommended to ensure the receiving canister is never overfilled.

Features

  • Transfers leftover fuel between compatible isobutane canisters
  • Consolidates partially filled canisters into a single canister
  • Helps reduce the number of half-empty fuel canisters in your gear stash
  • Clearly marked IN and OUT connections
  • Simple threaded attachment
  • Control valve starts and stops fuel transfer
  • Compact enough to keep with your camp-kitchen gear
  • Useful for backpacking, camping, and frequent canister-stove users

How to Use

  1. Place the receiving canister in a freezer, ice chest, or cool shaded location.
  2. Place the sending canister in the sun.
  3. Wait approximately 5–10 minutes to establish a temperature difference.
  4. Thread the sending canister onto the OUT side of FlipFuel.
  5. Thread the receiving canister onto the IN side and hand tighten.
  6. Open the valve to begin transferring fuel.
  7. Close the valve when the transfer is complete before removing the canisters.

Important Safety Information

  • Use a digital scale to verify the receiving canister does not exceed its allowable filled weight.
  • Only transfer fuel between two canisters of the same brand and model.
  • Designed for compatible isobutane fuel canisters.
